The grow membrane was developed by the Green Guerrillas 10 years ago to look at methods of growing nutrient rich food instantly in areas with extremely sandy soil (Cape Flats) or in areas of poor quality soil and tough growing conditions.
The Grow membrane is a poly woven material that comes in lengths of 10m x1.2m and by using some basic (free/cheap) materials such as straw and cardboard, coupled with living soil and mulch, creates a cost effective instant vegetable garden, that can be set up on any surface.
The science and alchemy involved with the grow membrane is the setting up of the grow substrate, transporting soil is expensive, by using AACT (aerated, activated, compost tea) and following bio-dynamic principles by using preps, and solutions that are micro nutrient rich we are able to on site inoculate inert carbon and massively reduce costs, yet not compromising on remaining organic, supporting and enhancing microbial life for optimal growing conditions, a water wise bullet proof grow system that requires less water than commercial systems and producing higher yields.
